Reporting to the Program Manager, the Psychometrist provides clinical, educational and research functions to the hospital under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist. The primary responsibilities of the Psychometrist reflect their advanced educational standing (e.g., Master's degree in Psychology) and are focused on optimizing the provision of clinical psychological services. Some clinical activities are undertaken only at the discretion of the supervising Registered Psychologist. However, given the advanced (Masters Level) standing of the Psychometrist and their position as front-line staff delivering clinical services, their clinical responsibilities include responding to situations based on their own clinical judgement, with debriefing from the supervising Registered Psychologist. The Psychometrist also provides training and supervision in test administration to pre-doctoral psychology interns.
The Seniors Health Program delivers clinical neuropsychology services based at the Halifax Infirmary (HI) Site, including offices and clinic space at the Abbie J.
