Overview

Are you a psychologist with experience in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of psychological aspects of physical conditions? Do you have a thorough understanding of psychological reactions to workplace injury and workplace stressors? We\xe2\x80\x99re looking for a psychologist to join our growing Mental Health Services team. You\xe2\x80\x99ll work with teams specialized in psychological trauma, serious injuries, high-risk situations, brain injuries, occupational diseases, chronic pain, and difficult work relations.

How you\xe2\x80\x99ll make a difference: As part of our interdisciplinary case-management teams, you\xe2\x80\x99ll focus on helping injured workers in their recovery, rehabilitation, and safe return to work.

We offer a flexible Monday-to-Friday work week and a full- or part-time schedule. For those engaged in the registration process for the College of Psychologists of BC, we provide supervision for college registration purposes.

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a hybrid work model that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operation needs of the position.

In this role, you\xe2\x80\x99ll work primarily from your B.C. home and occasionally onsite at your local area office.

What you\'ll do

  • Engage in collaborative, proactive, individual case consultations
  • Participate in team meetings
  • Conduct file reviews and write clinical opinions
  • Plan and monitor assessment and treatment services
  • Assess injured workers to provide diagnoses, causality analysis, and treatment recommendations
  • Offer educational presentations to staff to promote an understanding of psychology and the concepts and practices of case management

Your background and experience
  • A graduate degree in clinical psychology, neuropsychology, or counselling psychology
  • Current registration with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia, or eligibility for post-internship registration with the College of Psychologists of British Columbia
  • A minimum of one year of relevant work experience, preferably in disability management, workers\xe2\x80\x99 compensation, insurance, a medical-legal setting, or health care
  • Experience providing direct psychological/neuropsychological assessment and treatment services
  • Training and experience in conducting psychological assessments and/or treatment in an institutional context
