Responsibilities of our Registered Psychologist include:
Provide psychological assessment, diagnosis (where applicable), and treatment for individuals and/or couples during pregnancy and postpartum
Support clients experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), birth trauma, fertility-related challenges, grief/loss, and other major life transitions
Deliver evidence-based interventions such as CBT, ACT, IPT, or trauma-focused therapies
Facilitate group programs or workshops to promote perinatal mental health and resilience
Collaborate with other PUSH Mama Care providers to ensure integrated, client-centered care
Contribute to the development of educational resources and online content for parents
Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to all professional and ethical standards of practice
We require experience including:
Doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical, Counselling, or School Psychology
Registration in good standing with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO)
Authorized areas of practice that include Clinical Psychology with Adults (and Couples, if applicable)
Professional liability insurance coverage
1-3 years of clinical experience, ideally with perinatal or family populations
Training or continuing education in perinatal mental health strongly preferred
The ideal candidate will have:
Strong knowledge of perinatal mental health, attachment theory, and family systems
Experience supporting clients through postpartum depression, anxiety, trauma, and adjustment to parenthood
Ability to work from a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and inclusive perspective
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to build trust and rapport with clients
Advanced clinical reasoning, assessment, and formulation skills
Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development
Flexibility and ability to adapt/prioritize in a constantly changing environment
Empathy, compassion, and a non-judgmental approach to care
