Job Description

For our client, Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) Health Services, we are looking for a PSYCHOLOGIST - MENTAL HEALTH ASSESSMENTS (SIU) to provide

Mental Health Assessment services

specifically for offenders in the Structured Intervention Unit (SIU) at Millhaven Institution.

Contract Dates:

2 Years

Weekly workload

: 12hr-20hr

Expected Assessment annually:

208 assessment (3-4 assessment per week)

Assessment Mechanism:

The Contractor provides Mental Health Assessments to offenders

"as requested by the Project Authority, or designate

.

Time Frame:

Each Mental Health Assessment is required to be completed between

day 21 and day 28

from the time the individual is authorized to transfer to Millhaven Institution's Structured Intervention Unit.

Non-Commitment Clause:

The maximum number of hours is an estimate only and

"does not represent a commitment by CSC that CSC's future usage of the services described will be consistent with this number"



Mandatory Criteria



The proposed psychologist and backup resource

must

satisfy the following:

Licensure/Registration:

Hold a current license or registration with the provincial regulatory body for psychologists in the province(s) where services are provided.

Correctional Experience (Minimum):

Two (2) years of experience in

correctional or forensic psychology

over the past five (5) years.

Complex Case Assessment (Minimum):

One (1) year of experience in the past five (5) years assessing complex cases (e.g., dual diagnosis, severe personality disorders, self-injury history, chronic major mental illness).

Differential Diagnosis/Treatment Planning (Minimum):

One (1) year of experience in the last five (5) years providing differential diagnosis of complex cases and devising prioritized multi-target treatment plans.

Resource Submission:

Bid must submit

one proposed psychologist and one backup resource

to perform the work.

Responsibilities:



Assessment & Diagnosis:

Provide Mental Health Assessment services to develop an understanding of the individual's

emotional, cognitive, and behavioural functioning

. This includes performing

differential diagnosis of complex cases

(e.g., dual diagnosis, severe personality disorders, chronic major mental illness).

Treatment Planning:

Formulate and devise

prioritized multi-target treatment plans

based on the assessment findings.M6

Interdisciplinary CollaborationCollaborate

with the interdisciplinary health services team (nursing, social work, occupational therapy, etc.) and the case management team to ensure coordinated care and planning.

Correctional Mandate:

Ensure the provision of essential health care and reasonable access to non-essential mental health care, as required by the Corrections and Conditional Release Act (CCRA).

Reporting & Meetings: Produce or contribute to regional reporting

and tracking processes, and attend Institutional/Community Health Services team meetings and Regional Headquarters meetings when requested by the Project Authority.

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 26 months

Pay: $150.00-$200.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 per week

Education:

Secondary School (preferred)
Experience:

correctional or forensic psychology: 3 years (required) assessing complex cases : 3 years (required) Differential Diagnosis/Treatment Planning : 3 years (required)
Licence/Certification:

psychologists licence in Ontario (required)
Work Location: In person
