The Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug Education Authority (KEA) is dedicated to providing culturally relevant and holistic education to the children and youth of Kitchenuhmaykoosib Inninuwug, a remote Oji-Cree First Nation community located in Northwestern Ontario. KEA supports student achievement and well-being by fostering learning environments rooted in community, culture, and language.
Position Summary
KEA is seeking a
Psychologist
to join our Education Authority team. The successful candidate will bring psychological expertise to support the learning, mental health, and overall well-being of students. The Psychologist will conduct assessments, provide interventions, and consult with staff, families, and community members to help address the academic, social, emotional, and behavioural needs of students.
Responsibilities
Provide psychological assessments to evaluate intellectual, academic, behavioural, social-emotional, and mental health functioning of students.
Develop culturally responsive recommendations and interventions to support student learning and mental health.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and community partners to promote student well-being and success.
Offer consultation and training to school staff regarding mental health, neurodevelopmental, and behavioural needs of students.
Contribute to the development of intervention strategies tailored to classroom and community needs.
Maintain compliance with all standards of professional psychology practice and relevant regulatory bodies.
Qualifications
Doctoral degree in Clinical, Counselling, or School Psychology (preferred).
Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the
College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO)
.
Experience conducting psychological assessments and providing interventions for children and adolescents.
Knowledge or experience working with Indigenous communities is considered a strong asset.
Demonstrated commitment to equity, cultural responsiveness, and inclusive practice.
