Your Opportunity:

Reporting to the manager in the Child & Adolescent Addiction & Mental Health & Psychiatry Program (CAAMHPP) and working collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team, the Psychologist I provides consultation, diagnostic assessment and treatment for children and adolescents with OCD and other co-morbid mental health disorders, associated developmental, cognitive and behavioral disorders. Service delivery may include liaison and collaboration with relevant community agencies, including case conferences. A family-centered approach is utilized, and an understanding of parental mental health is required. Primary treatment modalities include assessment, individual therapy, and group therapy. Experience working with OCD is required, as well as a broad range of other child and adolescent mental health disorders, including Anxiety, Depression, Bi-Polar Disorder, for instance. The ability to provide a differential diagnosis based on the DSM V is required. The position is currently working in the OCD Program, based at RRDTC. The position is a permanent 0.80 FTE (4 days per week). Days of work are Tuesday - Friday.

Description:

As a Psychologist I, you will work with or within teams to provide a range of standard level psychology services to patients and their families within the established standards, directives, and policies for the work environment. Your services may include: psychological screening and/or assessment, diagnosis, interventions, rehabilitation, prevention and promotion, as well as education activities. You will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals in planning and implementing services that align with best practice and ethical and professional standards. You will provide input to the interprofessional team related to psychological factors, barriers and dynamics that influence client treatment planning, participation, outcomes and team functioning, and consults/collaborates with teams and community services. Your duties may also include providing supervision to psychometrists, provisional psychologists and/or masters level psychology students, and providing input into program, policy and/or procedure development in addition to participating in formal research initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of master\'s degree in Psychology in an applied area relevant to the practice setting from an accredited university program. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP). Additional Required Qualifications:

3-5 years recent post-degree experience working with Children and Adolescents in a tertiary in-patient or out-patient setting required. Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team required. Experience working with OCD and co-morbidities required. Experience providing treatment in groups required. Experience working from a trauma-focused perspective required. Experience in CBT and other evidence-based practices required. Demonstrated skill and experience in diagnostic assessment required. Demonstrated Clinical Skills in assessment, diagnosis, formulation and intervention with children, adolescents and families, as well as system and navigation of Child and Adolescent Services within AHS and the community required. Ability to complete a differential diagnosis using DSM V required. Demonstrated ability to work in a consultative and collaborative manner with schools and other community resources required. Sound clinical and professional judgement and ability to work independently required. Must have calm, warm engaging style with proven ability to engage families and clients who can present as highly distressed and dysregulated. Preferred Qualifications:

Brain Story Certification preferred. Connect Care training preferred. Connect Attachment Group trained preferred. Experience working with ASD preferred. Collaborative Problem Solving trained preferred.
