Therapy Alberta is hiring experienced therapists to provide trauma-informed online therapy with clients throughout Alberta. We are looking for independent contract Psychologists living in Alberta to work full- or part-time hours. As the Ideal Therapist, you:
  • Provide compassionate care with empathy and non-judgment
  • Support clients to understand what they are experiencing, why, and how to change
  • Help clients feel seen, heard, believed, and encouraged
  • Are inclusive, open-minded, and committed to improving equitable access to mental health
  • Are experienced in working with a niche population (adults or youth or elders, individuals or couples, families or groups, LGBTQ+ or BIPOC)
  • Are comfortable and proficient delivering online services via primarily video, occasionally phone
  • Don't want the hassles of managing a business and administrative duties
  • Are a skilled trauma-informed therapist with experience in relational and somatic therapy modalities
  • Are keen for professional development and continuing education in online and trauma therapy
  • Have excellent time management and communication skills and can work independently
  • Are committed to learning and upholding high ethical and professional practice standards
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Counselling or Clinical Psychology
  • Must be registered and in good standing with the College of Alberta Psychologists
  • Maintain professional liability insurance with cyber coverage
  • 1+ year clinical therapy experience
  • Computer with high-quality webcam and private, quiet working space
  • Live in Alberta and agree to provide online therapy only to those living in Alberta
Assets
  • Skilled in the treatment of complex trauma and dissociative disorders
  • Advanced education and training in trauma-focused and mind-body modalities (EMDR, Sensorimotor, Somatic Experiencing, Hakomi, etc)
  • Approved provider for insurance, including NIHB or Medavie (CF, RCMP, VA)
  • Willingness to contribute to public education through articles, blogs, and resources
About the Position
  • Provide online therapy services as per the guidelines of your regulatory body
  • Manage client caseload and files
  • Schedule and reschedule client appointments
  • Maintain schedule on Jane app (online booking optional)
  • Maintain clinical competence and engage in external supervision and continuing education
Commitment
  • Asking for a commitment of 5 - 25 hours per week.
  • Compensation is based on a competitive % split with annual increases; service rates are set by the therapist with openness to sliding scale fees
  • Looking for a long-term fit; applications will be accepted until a qualified candidate is found
