Job Summary
---------------
The psychologist is responsible for the provision of psychological assessment services in support of the Service's hiring process.
The major responsibilities are:
Conduct psychological risk assessments and interviews; analyze and interpret data, formulate conclusions, provide a recommendation and prepare report on findings.
Apply industrial psychology principles; develop and maintain standards for assessment, psychological assessment tools, processes and practices.
Collaborate with internal key partners and develop assessment strategies, participate in candidate interviews/role plays, and provide recommendations on improvement.
Act as a subject matter expert on assessment psychology and provide advice on candidate files.
Liaise with external key partners to exchange information and stay current on risk assessment trends and developments in the community.
Conduct research on topics relating to insider threats, the assessment of risks, competency assessments and best practices.
Maintain a strong understanding of mental health / psychopathology / personality disorders.

Masters Degree in Industrial Psychology OR Organizational Psychology OR Psychology and five (5) years of relevant experience within the past ten (10) years
The Masters degree must be obtained from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada. If you completed a program outside of Canada you will be required to obtain proof of a Canadian equivalency at your expense from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada.
NOTE: Any higher level of education (i.e.: Doctorate) in a related field of study could be recognized as experience.

PhD in Psychology and membership in a provincial psychologist college.

Experience working with military or public safety organizations.

The Psychologist Terminable Allowance (PSY) is paid to employees occupying a Psychologist position and who have obtained an education level at the masters or doctoral level in Psychology from a recognized university in Canada (or equivalent).
Doctorial level psychologists are to receive an annual amount of $12,000 paid biweekly and Master's level psychologists are to receive an annual amount of $6,000 paid biweekly.
