KSCS is seeking a highly skilled & experienced individual who is responsible to coordinates referrals to psychological services to the community of Kahnawake. Under the supervision of the Psychologist/Clinical Supervisor, the Psychological Services Coordinator coordinates referrals to psychological services for members of the Kahnawake community and participates in group work in a variety of capacities.

Duration: 18 -month contract, with a 6-month probationary period.

Description
Under the supervision of the Psychologist/Clinical Supervisor, the Psychological Services Coordinator coordinates referrals to psychological services for members of the Kahnawake community and participates in group work in a variety of capacities.
Under general supervision, independently applies learned skills, knowledge and practical experience to tasks associated with the job family using established practices and standard procedures to complete assignments.
Provides, designs and creates service plans and makes referrals for psychological services' clients to the appropriate internal and external resources under the Psychologist's supervision and assists in the recruitment of service providers in order to maintain a resource network. Conducts research projects to improve services, based on identified needs.
Decisions are based on independent judgment, requiring further investigation & evaluation, within generally defined parameters. Alters approach or recommends procedural changes. Decisions are generally accepted as accurate & sound. Seeks consultation/guidance as needed.

Responsibilities
Coordination of service clients receive in psychological services:
Collaborates and designs service plans for individuals of all ages, couples, families and groups.
Develops recommendations, creates service plans and makes referrals for psychological services' clients to the appropriate internal and external resources (e.g., social workers, support workers, addiction response workers, external psychological service providers, outpatient psychiatric programs, etc.).
Coordinates and monitors psychological referrals, both for assessments and therapeutic services.
Monitors the goals set out for therapy and clients' progress.
Reviews objectives on service plans and makes necessary changes.
Evaluates clients' current psychological services and proposes adjustments/different services when appropriate to better meet clients' needs.
Assists in planning and intervention of the Psychological Services Team:
Participates in team meetings in Psychological Services.
Participates in supervision sessions with the Psychologist/Clinical Supervisor.
Participates in other meetings (inter-organizational committees), as required.
Assists in screening and assessments, briefs, reports, case notes, and caseload summaries.
Participates in training and other KSCS activities.
Assists in developing services and special projects for Psychological Services and KSCS (involving research).
Assists in carrying out awareness activities for the service, whenever required and/or possible.
Provides support in the management of the service:
Assists in the coordination of Service Provider recruitment.
Assists in interviewing potential service providers in order to maintain a resource network.
Assists in verifications about office space, licensing, accreditations, explanations/negotiations of fees, experiences and abilities to work with our community and KSCS's mandate.
Assists in interviewing and orienting training and supervising student assistantship.
Presents and qualifies to all psychological services staff, the information acquired in different attended training sessions.
Supports the multidisciplinary team model approach
:
Participates in multi-disciplinary team meetings, such as case reviews, case conferences, placement and review meetings, planning sessions and any other team meeting when appropriate.
Shares all psychological documents and other relevant documentation with appropriate disciplines, when applicable.
Ensures communication with other teams regarding relevant information about mutual clients' psychological services (e.g. terminations, delays in clients accessing services).
Refers clients to other services when appropriate.
Acts as a consultant by providing information and technical expertise as required.
Perform administrative responsibilities:
Develops methods to meet community members' needs while staying within the budget.
Meets with clients to explain KSCS psychological referral procedures, reviews all required referral documents and obtains informed consent of the client or the client's parents.
Scores psychometric and other tests.
Responsible for record keeping (e.g., plans for service, interactions with clients, documentation or any mandated disclosure of confidential information, etc.)
Maintains an accurate accounting of records.
Utilizes case management recording system on a regular basis to keep up-to-date records of assigned cases.
Maintains accurate records of time sheets, expenses, travel claims, caseload summaries, and schedules; submits these records to the immediate Supervisor in a timely manner.
Performs any other job-related duties as may be required by the immediate Supervisor.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:
B.A. in Psychology, or related discipline, with 1-3 years related experience.
####
Skills and Requirements:
Experience working directly with clients (e.g. customer service).
Comfortable working with clients who present with a wide spectrum of psychological issues, including personality disorders, mood disorders and psychotic disorders.
Knowledge of intergenerational trauma, impacts of sexual abuse, family violence, and addictions.
An understanding of culture and the importance of its integration into the delivery of psychological services.
Effective time management skills and ability to multi-task.
Strong interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication, and a team player.
Excellent writing and editing skills.
Quick learner and self-starter.
Strong sense of ethics and responsibility.
Knowledge of computer programs (Excel, Word, data base programs, etc.),
A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is a requirement,
Ability to work flexible work week to meet client needs when required,
Ability to deal with moderate to high stress,
Ability to cope with high work volume.
