Your Opportunity:This is an exciting opportunity for a Psychiatric Aide in the Adult Inpatient program at the Centennial Centre for Mental Health and Brain Injury (CCMHBI) in Ponoka. CCMHBI is a campus of specialists and health professionals that are committed to integrated, multi-disciplinary care and treatment to ensure the best outcomes for patients and their families. This position requires a highly motivated individual that is keenly interested in working with people. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are large contributors to success in this position. The Psychiatric Aide - Rundle is able to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team to support addiction and mental health patients to meet their patient recovery goals and assisting with activities of daily living, observing and reporting any changes in condition. You will assist with treatment and support to individuals who have a severe and persistent mental illness, addiction, or those experience an acute mental health crisis. You are a team member that works with professional staff to support the development, implementation, and delivery of the patient care as guided by the clinical staff. The Centennial Centre for Mental Health and Brain Injury is a state-of-the-art center that treats and cares for people with psychiatric disorders and those who have suffered brain injury. This position has been identified and is anticipated to transition to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. In accordance with the transition letter of understanding with UNA, current employees under the UNA Collective Agreement who accept an employment offer, issued after July 1, 2024, will not have any rights under Article 15: Layoff and Recall.Description:As a Psychiatric Aide, you will work as a collaborative member of the multi-disciplinary team to meet the personal care needs and comforts of patients in accordance with the patient care plan and facility policies and procedures. You will assist nurses with the provision of routine care to meet patients\' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation and safety needs as well as assist with organized activities or programs. In this position, you will observe and report on a patient\xc2\xbfs mood, health, well-being, maintain effective communication with patients and health professionals, assist with the maintenance of a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors as well as assist in the general support of the work area.

Required Qualifications:Completion of Grade 12. A combination of education and experience satisfactory to the employer will also be considered.
