Your Opportunity:The Turningpoint Program (Unit 3-6) at Alberta Hospital Edmonton is an 18-bed inpatient forensic unit that supports youths and young adults who are in conflict with the law. The Turningpoint Program provides assessment, stabilization, short- and long-term treatment to youth with legal standing under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Stabilization is also provided to youths experiencing an acute psychiatric disturbance. The Turningpoint Program is a very dynamic and unique program, and the successful candidate will be skilled with engagement, de-escalation skills and healthy boundaries, while providing excellent care in a collaborative team environment. This position has been identified and is anticipated to transition to Recovery Alberta effective September 1, 2024. Your duties will includes assisting with the provision of routine nursing care to meet patients\' hygiene, nutrition, mobility, recreation and safety needs; assisting with organized activities or programs; as well as observing and reporting on a patient\'s mood, health, and wellbeing. You will be assisting in the maintenance of a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors, and maintaining effective communication with patients and health professionals.
