Responsibilities



Offer engaging companionship to older adults and individuals with disabilities, fostering social interaction and mental stimulation. Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Support residents with medication reminders and monitor vital signs to ensure health and safety. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs, following care plans and safety standards. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning living areas, laundry, and organizing personal belongings. Observe residents closely for any changes in health or behavior, documenting observations accurately while respecting privacy protocols such as HIPAA. Utilize specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts safely to assist with mobility and prevent injury. Support residents during outings or community activities to promote engagement and independence. Follow established care plans diligently, collaborating with healthcare professionals when necessary to ensure comprehensive patient care. Participate in ongoing training related to dementia care, Alzheimer's care, hospice support, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorders.

Skills



Proven experience in senior care, assisted living, home health, or long-term care environments. Knowledge of patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs accurately. Familiarity with caregiving tools such as Hoyer lifts, resident lifts, and mobility aids. Ability to administer medications following prescribed guidelines while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Strong skills in meal preparation tailored to individual dietary restrictions and nutritional needs. Experience working with people with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, or other memory-related conditions; understanding of memory care strategies. Excellent communication skills for engaging with residents compassionately and collaborating effectively with team members. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and assist residents safely during transfers or activities. Basic first aid certification (CPR preferred) to respond promptly in emergencies. Prior group home experience or familiarity with assisted living facilities is advantageous. Knowledge of patient care documentation practices and adherence to healthcare regulations such as HIPAA. Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 12 per week
