About the Role
Business Technical and Training College is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable PSW Lab Technician to support the setup, daily operation, and maintenance of our Personal Support Worker (PSW) Skills Experiential Lab. The Lab Technician will ensure the lab is properly equipped, clean, organized, and ready for student training in accordance with NACC curriculum standards and Ministry regulations.

Key Responsibilities
Coordinate the physical setup and readiness of the PSW lab, including beds, mannequins, mobility aids, and clinical equipment
Ensure proper cleaning, sanitization, and arrangement of all materials and supplies in line with healthcare safety standards
Work with vendors to order, receive, and install PSW lab equipment and supplies
Assist in the development of skills stations (e.g., bathing, feeding, ambulation, vital signs) to align with NACC curriculum
Prepare documentation, inventory checklists, and supply lists for faculty use
Ensure the lab complies with infection control, workplace safety, and Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU) standards
Liaise with Program Supervisor and faculty to ensure teaching needs are anticipated and supported in the lab design
Requirements
Background as a Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Practical Nurse (RPN), or healthcare educator
Experience setting up or managing a clinical skills lab or simulation environment in an academic or healthcare setting is must.
Knowledge of infection prevention and control (IPAC) best practices is an asset
Familiarity with PSW training equipment and NACC program standards is an asset
Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to lift and move medical equipment (within reasonable limits)
