We are seeking a passionate and dedicated PSW Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and inspiring students to achieve their goals. This role requires excellent communication skills, creativity, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
Duties
Deliver engaging and up-to-date PSW curriculum in accordance with Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU) and program accreditation standards.
Prepare and deliver classroom lectures, practical lab sessions, and clinical supervision, both in-person and/or online.
Assess and evaluate student progress through assignments, tests, and clinical performance.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
Provide academic support and professional mentorship to students.
Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment that respects the diversity of all learners.
Collaborate with academic coordinators and administrative staff to maintain program quality and integrity.
Participate in faculty meetings, training sessions, and ongoing curriculum development.
Experience
A recognized diploma or degree in PSW, Nursing (RN or RPN) or in a health-related field.
Minimum of
3 years of recent and relevant experience
, preferably in a long-term care, community, or home care setting.
Prior teaching, training, or mentoring experience is strongly preferred; experience in post-secondary or adult education is an asset.
Familiarity with the PSW program standards set by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU).
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in using online teaching platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams) is an asset.
Ability to teach in a multicultural environment and support diverse student needs.
CPR/First Aid Certification is required prior to start.
