Position Summary
Are you interested in leading the day-to-day operations of a university-based, nationally funded program supporting the mental health of public safety personnel? Join us as our new PSPNET Research, Development, and Communications Manager!
The Public Safety Personnel Internet-delivered Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (PSPNET) team is based at the University of Regina and funded by Public Safety Canada as well as other funders. PSPNET is led by Drs. Heather Hadjistavropoulos and Nick Carleton and includes clinicians and researchers and operational staff who collaboratively develop, implement and evaluate internet-delivered cognitive behavioural therapy (ICBT) to support the mental health and wellbeing of current and former public safety personnel (PSP). ICBT typically begins with an online and telephone screening. ICBT itself involves clients reviewing psychoeducational materials over the internet and therapists providing support and directing therapeutic activities via secure messaging and phone calls. PSPNET is also supported by a dedicated operational team responsible for coordination, communication, and program infrastructure. The Manager will report to Dr. Heather Hadjistavropoulos and will work collaboratively with other managers and staff. The incumbent is required to adhere to all protocols approved by the University of Regina Research Ethics Board.
Under the direction of the Principal Investigators, the manager will be responsible for leading and managing the day-to-day operations of the research, development, and communications team. This includes supervision of research associates, research assistants, trainees, and related personnel as well as providing functional leadership within a matrix organizational structure that includes clinicians, researchers and operational staff. The Manager will collaborate extensively with and provide direction to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Internally, these parties include, but are not limited to, the Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research (FGSR), Office of Research Services, Research Ethics Board (REB), Information Services, Human Resources, Supply Management Services, Facilities Management, Centre for Continuing Education and other faculty, staff, and students across campus. External collaborators include Public Safety Canada, policy makers, Public Safety Personnel organizations, Public Safety Personnel families, service providers, researchers, trainees, and other funders as well as individuals or organizations contracted to work with PSPNET.
