Reporting to the Executive Lead, Office of the CEO, the Provincial Manager, Security Operations is accountable for the development, delivery, direction, management, coordination, oversight, and review of Security Operations services throughout NL Health Services. The Provincial Manager will lead and manage the Provincial Integrated Protection Services Security Operations program and team throughout NL Health Services.
Through appropriate planning mechanisms (planning, implementation, evaluation of related programming and physical, financial, and human resources), the Provincial Manager will develop, manage and be accountable for the Security Operations budget, and will be the lead resource in all Security Operations related planning initiatives, as well as any related contract preparation, negotiation, development, and management. The Provincial Manager will manage the operational aspects of the complex security contract and will be the lead resource in all Security Operations related planning initiatives, as well as security contract preparation, negotiation, development, and management. The Provincial Manager will identify gaps, provide direction, and deliver security related recommendations on issues related to environments that contain elements of danger to life or health, will direct corrective measures to mitigate risk to internal and external stakeholders, and will lead, manage, supervise, assign work and provide consistent operational direction to Integrated Protection Services staff located throughout NL Health Services. Also, when required, the incumbent will provide recommendations, advice, and direction to all other levels of management within NL Health Services on a variety of complex safety and security issues, including internal and criminal investigations.
As directed by the Executive Lead, Office of the CEO, the incumbent will, where subject matter expertise is required or requested by internal or external agencies or partners, provide strategic advice and operational guidance, engage in planning sessions, and assist when and where required. The incumbent will collaborate and build strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and will develop policies and procedures on behalf of NL Health Services that can be operationalized at the delivery level for NL Health Services employees and agents. Where and when necessary, the incumbent will offer strategic advice, engage in planning sessions, and participate as a collegial partner and stakeholder in all other facets of the Integrated Protection Services program.
Job Qualifications
Education
Post-secondary degree in a relevant health-related discipline.
Experience
A minimum of five (5) years within the last seven (7) leading a dynamic team within an Integrated Protection Services division.
Successful completion of Incident Command System (ICS) 300 or higher.
Knowledgeable of the health care system. Experience in both acute and community-related health care would be preferred.
Membership with the International Association of Healthcare Security
Experience with hazard identification and mitigation, risk assessment and impact analysis and related knowledge of the principles of prevention, preparedness, response, and recovery.
Recent experience and management of Workplace Violence mitigation initiatives.
Experience in project planning, and documentation.
