Reporting to the Sr. Director - Provincial Capital Planning, Infrastructure and Engineering, the Provincial Director of Capital Planning is the provincial health authority\'s lead planning officer for its capital infrastructure and capital equipment plan with oversight for the strategy, development, and prioritization of NLHS\'s owned facilities and medical equipment. The Provincial Director leads the Provincial Capital Planning program and is responsible for ensuring effective planning and rigor around infrastructure and equipment renewal, clinical program improvements and fiscal stewardship by setting high standards for program delivery, and overseeing the equitable allocation of capital finances, personnel, and policy implementation issues province wide.The Provincial Director collaborates with other leaders to create and provide strategic and operational leadership to envision, enable, and support the allocation of all capital infrastructure (equipment and building infrastructure) funding across all regional zones in the province, including programming and planning, prioritization, facility condition assessments, equipment assessments and procurement for the delivery of a full spectrum of services with minimal impact on patients and staff through effective health and safety measures. This includes planning for the Cardiovascular and Stoke Institute and St. Clare\'s Mercy Hospital.The Provincial Director will work with contracted consultants on the planning for equipment and infrastructure and is the provincial lead in new equipment acquisitions, installations, modifications and/or removal and may directly oversee the progress of such projects.The Provincial Director is responsible for controlling the procurement, prioritization, financial management and budgeting of all critical diagnostic and therapeutic medical equipment and building infrastructure for the entirety of NLHS. The Provincial Director of Capital Planning is a critical support resource for our patients, through the safe and effective management of clinical technology and built environment which includes ongoing equipment performance monitoring, facility condition assessment and capital equipment and infrastructure planning.Job Qualifications
Education
A bachelor\'s degree in a business, or related discipline is required.
A master\'s degree is preferred.
A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred.Experience
Minimum of five years of progressive management experience in the project management and/or engineering field is required.
Extensive experience coordinating multiple complex projects and multiple and varied strategic initiatives, including experience in dealing with all levels of administration, medical staff, and different levels of government is required.
Experience as a senior administrator, strategist, and policy developer is preferred.Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
