Job Description

SEM ltd is looking for a Protection and Controls Construction Management Representative(CMR). SEM ltd is a vendor of personnel for several clients throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. The purpose of this job advertisement is to source highly skilled local professionals for job placement opportunities that align with their experience.

Candidates must be experienced in high risk and Hydro-Generation specific construction activities and proficient in computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Candidate must also have least 5 years experience in a CMR, or equivalent supervisory role. The CMR reports directly to the Project Manager and is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of contracted work and for the daily monitoring and reporting of job progress.

. Contractor work includes but is not limited to:

Mobilization and demobilization from site; Demolition of existing Protection and Controls systems Installation of new Protection and Controls systems; Testing and commissioning of completed works
CREDENTIALS REQUIRED:

Graduated from High School and have either a Technology program certification or be a qualified journeyperson, with particular emphasis on mechanical work, and have a minimum of ten years' experience in industrial construction (including some supervisory experience). Candidate must have strong knowledge of NL OHS policies, procedures, regulations and requirements. Candidate must have strong knowledge of HSE policies and procedures. Must have prior relevant experience as a CMR (or equivalent). Must be able to read drawings and understand technical specifications. Must have experience in multi-disciplinary projects. Must have experience in and be able to deal with the coordination of multiple work fronts. Must be able to work with, oversee, liaise and coordinate between various contractors and their subcontractors and with plant operations staff in a respectful manner. Must be able to work independently to solve routine/minor issues as they arise, and recognize when issues need to be brought to higher supervisory/technical/managerial levels. Possess a valid certificate for the following training programs:
- NL Fall Protection Training;

- WHMIS

- NL Power Line Hazards Training;

- NL Confined Space Entry Training;

- Standard/Emergency First Aid

Possess a valid Driver's License Successful candidate will be required to adhere to the client's Alcohol and Drug policy.
Contract/External Role

Expected hours: 70 per week

Work Location: Various Sites across NL

Start Date various contract start dates throughout the year

Job Types: Fixed term contract, Seasonal
