Position Overview

Provide enforcement of Property Standards By-Laws and provide support to Sewage Systems Coordinator and Building, Plumbing Inspector.

Duties and Responsibilities

Enforcement Duties:

  • Investigate property standards complaints and produce records of inspection of buildings and yard conditions
  • Produce orders for non-conformity and determine ownership for proper service of orders. Provide expert testimony in court
  • Investigate sewage systems for unsafe conditions and produce orders to remedy
  • Inspect plumbing systems for compliance with the Building Code
Administrative Duties:
  • Produce Municipal Road Signs and Property Address/911 signs
General:
  • Incumbents must keep up-to-date on all relevant legislation, collective bargaining agreements, County Policies and Procedures, etc. ensuring that these are implemented as prescribed
  • Incumbents must possess the physical ability to meet the duties and responsibilities of the job description and/or the requirements identified within the position\'s Physical Demands Analysis

Qualifications

Minimum Formal Education:
  • 2-year community college diploma in Law and Security Enforcement
  • Must pass Ministry exams for required building categories and be registered
Experience:
  • 2 years related work experience required
A valid Ontario driver\'s license and use of a vehicle.
