We are looking for a
Property Management Accountant who is responsible for overseeing and leading the financial success of our SOHO Purpose Built Rental Properties. Our properties are brand new builds & deserve to be supported by a dynamic & proficient accounting professional, with a keen eye for detail.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Oversee full cycle accounting for newly built Luxury Purpose built rental properties including: rent collection, accounts payable and receivable, budgeting and forecasting and financial reporting
You will work closely with our property manager to ensure all financial aspects of our properties is accurate and update to date
Reconcile balance sheet including accounts receivable, deferred charges rent deposits
Take the lead in monthly and quarterly operational/financial review meetings with property management.
Work with the property manager to prepare the annual budget and cashflow for properties
Prepare and interpret financial statements & facilitate any internal charge backs
Prepare the year-end working files
Support processes for annual internal / external audits including creating working papers
Participate in various special projects, such as gathering samples for internal control review, Cost recovery audits, and preparation of various analyses and documents as required
Qualifications:
Over 5 years in Property Management Accounting with full cycle accounting experience
Yardi or MRI experience would be considered an asset
College or University diploma in Business or Accounting
Self Starter with a proven track record
Knowledge of Lease Administration would be an asset
Strong knowledge of Excel
Strong problem solver, high level attention to detail, strong analytical skills and ability to learn quickly
Preparation/review of financial statements, cash management, budgets, audit working papers and tenant operating cost adjustments
