Property Maintenance/handyman
Job Description
Established landlord in the Renfrew area is looking for a property maintenance technician for maintenance and renovation of residential and commercial rental units. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with the following:
- General plumbing: Toilets, sinks, faucets, tubs/showers, change hot water tanks, fix leaks, etc.
- General electrical: General knowledge, diagnosing, installing light fixtures, etc.
- Facility repairs: doors, doorknobs, locks, smoke detector/carbon monoxide installations, furnace filter replacements
- Facility installations: doors, windows, trim, click flooring, insulation
- Drywall: installing drywall, mudding, taping, sanding, etc.
- Painting: Clean and prep walls, paint, touch-ups, etc.
- Framing: Building, repairing or altering walls and partitions
- General carpentry
- Operating hand and power tools
- Other general work related to maintaining apartments
Qualifications
- Proactive and self-motivated
- Able to work independently and in a team
- Organized
- Reliable
- Good work ethic
- Have a get'er done attitude
- Able to plan and prioritize work efficiently
- Possess analytical and problem solving skills
- Have good verbal communication skills
- Able to maintain an atmosphere of courtesy and respect with tenants
- Able to report back to the landlord regularly
- Flexibility in work hours (primarily M - F, with occasional emergency repairs on evenings and weekends)
- Have own vehicle, cell phone and tools
- Advanced carpentry experience would be an asset
Experience
- Minimum of five years' experience as a general handyman/carpenter (not req'd to be licensed).
