Job Requirements

As a Property & Casualty Risk Engineer, you will be responsible for the following: Providing risk assessment and risk improvement consultation to property and casualty customers to positively impact their loss ratio and deliver value that influences their insurance buying decision. Successful execution of consultative based servicing and risk engineering services to clients. Conducting on-site visits of existing and prospective customers, and completion of reports to evaluate hazards and controls for adequate risk selection, pricing, and application of underwriting techniques leading to profitable growth. Collaboration with claims and underwriting partners to ensure consistent satisfactory risk selection, retention and exceeding service expectations. Carrying out various marketing functions for the Risk Engineering Services Department working together with property & casualty Underwriters. Interacting with the brokerage community.

Work Experience
Four-year university degree in engineering, sciences, or industrial safety preferred. Possessing relevant professional designations or certifications such as CRSP or CRM is highly desirable. Minimum two years of risk engineering (loss control) experience, multi-line service. Experience in property and casualty exposures. An aptitude for evaluating, analyzing and interpreting information. Proven skills in communications and negotiations. Technical knowledge in risk assessments, exposure identification and controls. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proven leadership and decision-making skills. Strong time management and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat required; a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint preferred.
