About the role

We are looking for a Property Appraiser to join our growing team in Vancouver!

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll do here:



  • Conducts field inspections to evaluate property damage and evaluate replacement or restoration requirements including direct and in-person contact with insured, claimants, and service providers.
  • Working with adjusters, create scope of damage to establish rebuilding costs and formulate the estimate
  • Prepares repair estimates and also verify any estimates provided by contractors to ensure that the services provided meet the procedural standards
  • Responsible for managing vendor responsibilities, including follow-up and progress
  • Obtains from contractors repair cost agreements or quotations on restoration/replacement. Monitors and updates labour and material costs to be paid within their region.


  • Provide technical support to claims adjusters on the outcome of the appraisal and negotiate with contractors to reach an agreement regarding costs.
  • Maintains effective communication channels with claims departments.
  • Conducts in-class scoping, restoration and re-inspection training as required to Claims Rep.
  • Maintains current knowledge of insurance products as well as appraisal and investigation techniques and services.
  • Identifies needs for process improvement and recommends changes to policies or procedures to maintain quality service and competitiveness.


  • Determines and/or establishes key measures to monitor personal efforts and service levels.


What you bring to the table:


  • Diploma in building appraisal or any combination of equivalent education and experience.

  • 3 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in claims appraisal

  • Proficiency with Xactimate claims estimating software

  • Technical and practical knowledge of the restoration of damaged buildings

  • Planning and organizational skills

  • Good interpersonal communication skills
