Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Property and Accounting Administrator to join our team in Winnipeg. This is a critical support role, assisting both our Property Managers and Bookkeeper with a variety of administrative, operational, and financial tasks. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who excels at managing multiple priorities and ensuring smooth, accurate daily operations for our property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities



Property Administration Support:



Assist the Property Manager with lease administration, including preparing lease documents, tracking renewals, and managing tenant files. Coordinate maintenance and repairs by scheduling vendors, generating work orders, and tracking completion. Maintain accurate and up-to-date property and unit records, ensuring compliance with local regulations. Prepare and distribute general correspondence, notices, and reports.

Accounting/Bookkeeping Support:



Provide direct support to the Bookkeeper, primarily managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). Process vendor invoices, ensure proper coding, and prepare batches for payment. Process tenant rent payments, prepare bank deposits, and assist with collections follow-up. Assist with month-end closing procedures and the preparation of routine financial reports. Organize and maintain all financial files, records, and documentation.

General Administration:



Maintain and organize both physical and electronic office filing systems. Order and manage office supplies, equipment, and inventory. Assist with other administrative and office tasks as required to ensure overall operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills



1-3 years of experience in an administrative support role, preferably within property management, real estate, or an accounting environment. Proven experience with basic bookkeeping or accounting principles, particularly AP and AR. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook). Experience with property management software Buildium valued or accounting software QuickBooks is a significant asset. Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize competing tasks.

Compensation



Salary:

$22 to $26 depending on experience
