JOB TITLE: Oven/Proofer Operator

DEPARTMENT: Prepared Foods - Pockets Shift A

McCain Foods (Canada) - Florenceville Prepared Foods are currently looking for an Oven/Proofer Operator to complete our team. Please note this is a physically demanding role.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Grade 12 education or GED
• Must be able to work shifts on a rotating basis
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Basic computer skills would be an asset
• Ability to work well with plant supervision and production employees
• Team player with excellent attendance
• Must have good mathematical skills and complete production forms accurately and neatly
• Must be self-motivated with an excellent attendance record and able to work well in a team environment.
• Pushing and pulling with 15- 20kgs of force. Some lifting is required of approximately 25 kgs
• Ability to learn to perform some autonomous maintenance activities (inspection, lubrication, etc)
• Demonstrate continue improvement (MCE) initiatives and involvement
• Joint Health and Safety Committee experience an asset

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Follow JHA\'s and work safely. Participate in the behavioral safety observation program
• Must be well organized as product flow is critical, the product must follow FIFO (first in first out) procedures
• Key operator responsible for in Critical Control Points
• Cleaning and Sanitation of equipment.
• Maintaining a neat work area, as well as a daily housekeeping report of the area. Report and eliminate condensation
• Responsible for identification and reporting of product quality issues
• Dealing with production issues, working in a fast-paced team environment
• Participate in Team meetings as required. Relay information to other Team members as an area Lead (Key Area Resource).
• Will follow required training plan including role-specific, plant, and Corporate training
• The incumbent will be required to cross-train and help break other positions when necessary
• Perform standard tests to ensure consistent quality
• Ensure all equipment is in good working condition and report any issues
• Must operate ovens/proofers and maintain time, temperature, and humidity during baking cycles
• Filling out paperwork and entering data on computer accurately and efficiently
• Communicate any changes, issues, etc. Must maintain all required documentation and check sheets
• Ensure targets are met by understanding and goal setting and KPI\'s
• Must follow \xe2\x80\x9cGood Manufacturing Practices\xe2\x80\x9d (GMP\'s)
• All additional duties as they become assigned.

Applicants must possess a good safety record and continually demonstrate \xe2\x80\x9csafety first.\xe2\x80\x9d Selection of employees for promotion is based upon such factors as ability, special training, experience, prior PEP Ratings, attendance, ability to meet the physical demands of the position, education, length of service, and involvement in additional assignments. Length of service will be the determining factor when all other factors are relatively equal.
