The Project Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing procurement activities across the full lifecycle of capital and infrastructure projects, ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and compliant acquisition of goods and services. This role involves leading sourcing initiatives, managing vendor onboarding, executing contracts, tracking orders, and coordinating delivery through to post-commissioning support. While the primary focus is project procurement, the role will also provide support for operational and IT procurement activities as required. The Project Procurement Specialist will work closely with project managers, engineers, operations, and finance teams to align procurement activities with business needs, while demonstrating IREN's Vision, Mission, and Core Values.

Job requirements
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
7+ years of progressive procurement experience, with at least 3 years in a project-based environment (construction, EPC, IT, energy, or data centers).
Proven track record of leading complex sourcing initiatives, negotiating large-scale contracts, and managing supplier relationships.
Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred) and project procurement processes.
Demonstrated experience in logistics coordination, supply chain risk management, and cost optimization.
Exceptional stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills at all organizational levels.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, and evolving environment.
Job responsibilities
Strategic Procurement Leadership: Develop and execute procurement strategies for assigned projects, from RFP through project closeout, ensuring value creation, risk mitigation, and alignment with business objectives.
Vendor & Partner Management: Build and maintain strong supplier relationships; lead vendor qualification, onboarding, and performance management to ensure compliance, quality, and cost optimization.
Contract Negotiation & Management: Lead high-value contract negotiations, establish service-level agreements, and coordinate with legal and finance to structure agreements that safeguard company interests.
Procurement Operations & Governance: Oversee the procure-to-pay cycle (SAP), ensuring accurate requisitioning, purchase order execution, expediting, delivery tracking, goods receipt, and invoice reconciliation. Resolve escalations and drive process compliance.
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a trusted advisor to project managers, engineers, IT, operations, and finance; ensure procurement strategies enable on-time, on-budget project execution.
Market Intelligence & Risk Management: Monitor global and regional supply markets, anticipate risks, and recommend proactive strategies for supply assurance, vendor diversification, and cost control.
Process Improvement & Standardization: Champion the development of scalable procurement processes, policies, and tools to improve efficiency, transparency, and governance across projects.
Team Development (if applicable): Mentor junior procurement staff and contribute to building a high-performing procurement function that supports IREN's long-term growth
Job benefits
Salary range: $100,000 - 110,000, depending on experience
