Reporting to the Site Manager, the Project Planner is responsible for:


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:





1. Scope Definition




Interpret drawings, site conditions, and work packages to determine access and containment requirements.

Translate construction and maintenance plans into detailed access work scopes and sequencing strategies.

2. Material & Resource Planning




Develop material take-offs and resource forecasts for scaffolding, access systems, and associated equipment.

Coordinate material requisitions, logistics, and laydown planning to support uninterrupted field execution.

Validate that manpower and equipment allocations meet schedule demands and productivity targets.

3. Scheduling & Coordination




Prepare and maintain project schedules in coordination with client timelines, other trades, and outage activities.

Track progress, analyze variances, and recommend mitigation plans for schedule deviations.

Facilitate daily and weekly planning meetings to align supervisors, safety, and project management teams.

4. Technical Review & Documentation




Review, interpret, or develop access drawings, 3D models, and scaffold designs in accordance with applicable standards.

Maintain as-built documentation, change logs, and records supporting field modifications and compliance verification.

5. Risk & Compliance




Identify and mitigate potential safety hazards, interferences, or access conflicts before field execution.

Ensure adherence to all regulatory, procedural, and quality control requirements related to confined spaces, contamination zones, and critical path activities.

6. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement




Work closely with project managers, field supervisors, safety specialists, and engineers to optimize access design and sequencing.

Participate in post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and implement planning improvements.


Requirements:







Education & Training




Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline; or equivalent experience in access planning and project coordination.

Recognized training in project planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and 3D modeling tools considered an asset.

Experience




3 to 10 years of experience in planning or coordinating access, construction, or maintenance work in complex, controlled, or high-security industrial environments.

Demonstrated experience with scaffold design, material control, and sequencing of multi-trade work.

Proven ability to interpret engineering drawings and work packages and translate them into executable field plans.

Skills & Competencies




Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Proficiency in MS Excel, Project, and scheduling systems.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working in multidisciplinary teams.

Commitment to safety, procedural discipline, and precision under tight timelines.

Additional Requirements
Must be eligible to work in controlled or high-security industrial environments. Ability to obtain and maintain

security clearance / site access authorization

(e.g., Controlled Goods, site-specific background checks, drug and alcohol screening). Familiarity with radiological work controls and contamination prevention practices. Working knowledge of

ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable)

principles. Understanding of

dose tracking, contamination control zones,

and

radiation work permits (RWPs).

Ability to interpret

radiological postings

and apply required PPE and boundaries. Strong procedural discipline and attention to regulatory documentation requirements. Ability to work in highly regulated environments requiring strong procedural compliance, documentation accuracy, and teamwork.
