to help onboard new clients, audit their existing systems, and build secure, scalable IT environments. In this role, you'll assess networks, servers, cloud platforms, and policies; identify risks and improvements; and lead projects such as securing existing infrastructure, network deployments, Microsoft 365 migrations, and backup implementations.
You'll work closely with our service desk and management team to ensure every client transition is smooth, documented, and aligned with our security standards. This position is ideal for a technician who enjoys structured work, modern security tools, and seeing projects through from assessment to completion.
Duties
Client Infrastructure Auditing
Perform comprehensive audits of new client environments, including users, devices, servers, networks, cloud platforms, and security configurations.
Security Implementation
Deploy and configure cybersecurity platforms
Establish and maintain policies for MFA, conditional access, device compliance, and password management, etc.
Configure backup and continuity solutions
Support client transitions toward zero-trust and security-compliant environments.
Project Deployment
Plan and execute infrastructure projects including network rollouts, Microsoft 365 migrations, workstation replacements, and server upgrades, etc.
Coordinate with vendors, ordering hardware, and scheduling on-site or remote implementation.
Track progress in ticketing system and project management tools and ensure all deliverables are completed and documented.
Work alongside the service desk to hand off systems cleanly after deployment.
Documentation & Reporting
Maintain up-to-date client documentation in Umbrella's internal documentation systems.
Produce audit summaries and project completion reports for management and clients.
Assist with continual improvement of internal onboarding, auditing, and security templates.
Document findings within Umbrella's standardized onboarding and auditing templates.
Identify compliance gaps, security risks, and areas for efficiency improvement.
Present technical recommendations to management and assist in developing remediation plans.
Experience
xperience & Technical Background
3-5 years in a technical support or systems role within an MSP or similar environment.
Skills & Attributes
Strong documentation and organizational habits -- must enjoy structured processes.
Confident communicating with clients to gather information and explain changes.
Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting deadlines.
Curious and proactive about modern security practices and automation.
Able to work independently while collaborating closely with other technicians and the operations team.
Hands-on experience with:
Microsoft 365 administration
(Exchange Online, Intune, Entra ID).
Networking
(VLANs, VPNs, firewalls, deployments).
Server administration
(Windows Server, Active Directory, backups).
Security tools
(EDR, MFA, phishing protection, backup monitoring).
Understanding of IT compliance frameworks (PIPA, FIPPA, HIPAA, or similar).

Pay: $19.69-$41.01 per hour
