Project Description:
The Emergency Health I & IT Solutions & Technology Management Branch (EHSTMB) of the Health Services I&IT Cluster (HSC) supports these services through the acquisition, delivery and support & maintenance of related dispatch technologies, IT and telecommunications used within the Ambulance Communication Centres (ACCs) across the province and in the Branch's Head Office operations. These critical applications and technologies are used by the Ministry to support 24x7 mission critical 911 call taking and ambulance dispatch functions across the province, and includes:
Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) application and tools
Telecommunication equipment and systems (i.e. Communication Console Systems and FleetNet)
Technologies that digitally connects Land Ambulance Dispatch with other partners in first response and the health system (i.e. Real-Time Data Service and Mobile CAD)
Reporting Applications and Tools
Business Support Applications (i.e. Paramedic Certification, Inspections)
Central Ambulance Communication Centres (CACCs) rely on telephony systems to handle 9-1-1 calls from the public during emergencies and to coordinate responses with other first responders, including Fire, Police, and Ornge.
To support effective communication, consultation, operational readiness, decision-making, and organizational knowledge retention, technology modernization is essential. The implementation of SIP Admin lines will introduce capabilities such as Voice-over-IP and real-time text, integrating both voice and text channels into 9-1-1 call-taking operations.
This initiative will also address key business and regulatory requirements related to performance, service levels, cybersecurity, and data encryption. Multiple system integrations and readiness activities will be necessary to ensure a seamless transition.
A Senior Project Manager/Leader is required to create a structured roadmap for the transition across the province while managing risk and third-party vendor contracts and service level agreements. A Senior Business Analyst is required to capture business need such as call routing, voicemail, compliance requirement while facilitating the testing and validation strategies. A Junior Project Manager/Leader is required to facilitate the coordination of the timelines, track potential issues, and to ensure clear communication between leadership, IT teams and end-users. :
