Primary Purpose of Position:



We are seeking a Project Manager to join our team and lead a major decommissioning project based in Yellowknife, NT. This is a two year contract and an exciting opportunity to be part of a significant, long-term initiative that offers both career growth and job stability in a unique northern environment.


This position will be dedicated full-time to this project and based on-site on a two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off rotation schedule, with accommodations, travel, and meals fully covered. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the project, from planning and execution to completion, ensuring safety, quality, and financial performance targets are achieved. This role requires a strong, hands-on leader who thrives in dynamic site conditions and can effectively manage teams, subcontractors, and project documentation while maintaining close collaboration with the client and internal stakeholders.

Job Duties



Lead the on-site delivery of a large-scale decommissioning project from start to finish, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget Oversee daily site operations, working closely with Superintendents, Foremen, and other team members to maintain project momentum and productivity Develop detailed project budgets, resource plans, and schedules to meet defined milestones Ensure all work aligns with contract documents, scope, and regulatory requirements Provide clear direction and support to the Project Coordinator and other team members for efficient execution of administrative and documentation tasks Attend and lead regular on-site meetings for planning, progression, and close-out Collaborate with the Health & Safety department to develop and enforce safety and quality control programs Maintain compliance with all regional (provincial/territorial) and project-specific regulations Manage subcontractors, including scope definition, performance tracking, and invoice approvals Prepare and maintain accurate cost forecasts, budgets, and progress reports throughout the project lifecycle Review daily and weekly production data using B2W Track to ensure accurate reporting Complete monthly progress billings and maintain financial tracking Monitor key performance metrics and identify areas requiring corrective action Prepare weekly operating reports and provide updates to the Senior Project Leader Serve as the primary on-site contact for the client, ensuring effective communication and maintaining a strong working relationship Participate in all start-up, progress, and close-out meetings with clients and internal stakeholders Negotiate and manage project changes, scope adjustments, and documentation Coordinate resource requirements with field leadership and proactively address potential issues impacting schedule or cost Represent the company professionally in all interactions with clients, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies

Position Requirements


Requirements



o Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, or a related discipline



o Minimum 5 years of project management experience in construction, demolition, or industrial projects, with at least 3 years of direct on-site leadership is considered an asset.



o Experience managing a single large-scale project from mobilization to completion is strongly preferred



o Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary field teams in remote or rotational work environments



o Strong understanding of decommissioning and demolition practices, environmental regulations, and site logistics



o Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, field-based setting



o Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite



o Experience with construction software



o Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and mitigate project risks



o Willingness and ability to work a two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off rotation in Yellowknife for the duration of the project



Work Conditions



o Rotation schedule: 2 weeks on-site, 2 weeks off
