to support and mentor our Construction team. This role is all about driving efficiency, optimizing workflows, and ensuring all projects meet our high standards of quality and innovation. You'll play a key role in shaping the success of our new builds and renovations across the continent.
Key Responsibilities
Lead project development by managing team meetings, landlord/real estate milestones, and aligning on budgets and construction requirements.
Oversee General Contractor performance, schedules, and budgets to ensure quality and timely delivery.
Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and building surveys to identify risks, constraints, and budgeting needs.
Develop HVAC and building system strategies to meet project requirements and long-term operational goals.
Coordinate Architectural, MEPS, Millwork, and General Contracting deliverables.
Manage all construction documentation, including drawing reviews, tender preparation, and FF&E integration.
Evaluate contractor tenders, level bids, and execute CCDC or AIA contracts.
Track contractor, sub-trade, and vendor milestones while maintaining project financials and schedules.
Ensure all permits and regulatory approvals are obtained on time.
Manage procurement, logistics, and FF&E delivery/installation.
Oversee RFIs, change management, and submission processes.
Lead construction closeout, including budget reconciliation, deficiency tracking, and collection of as-built drawings, manuals, and warranties.
Strengthen partnerships with contractors, vendors, and sub-trades, identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Provide mentorship, training, and support to project managers and team members.
Travel across North America (approx. once per month) to oversee project sites, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in construction project management, preferably in
restaurant, hospitality, or retail
industries.
Degree or diploma in
Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or Development Planning
.
Strong expertise in procurement and logistics for construction and hospitality projects.
Ability to read and interpret
architectural, structural, MEP, and kitchen equipment plans
.
Proficiency in
Microsoft Excel, SmartSheets, Bluebeam, and Adobe Pro
(experience with AutoCAD, ProCore, or MS Project is an asset).
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent organization and attention to detail.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects across North America and lead diverse teams.
Experience in team leadership and mentoring is an asset.
Willingness to travel within North America (up to 40%).
