The Project Manager will collaborate with internal teams, external partners, and vendors to ensure the timely, efficient, and high-quality delivery of Ontario Health products and services. Assignments may include managing a single large-scale, complex project or multiple small to mid-sized initiatives. While projects are typically technical in nature, they may also involve process improvements or other business areas.
Working closely with project sponsors, the Project Manager is accountable for delivering projects on time, within budget, and in scope, while ensuring compliance with internal policies, procedures, and applicable legislation. The role also includes the development and maintenance of all required project management artifacts.
Here is what you will be doing:Manage all phases of the project lifecycle, including scope, schedule, and budget, to meet business objectives and stakeholder expectations. Clearly communicate project scope, assumptions, constraints, success factors, and risks to stakeholders and team members. Foster a positive, engaged team environment focused on improving healthcare delivery in Ontario. Support and motivate team members, recognizing individual strengths and needs to maximize productivity. Collaborate with sponsors to clarify scope, roles, and expectations. Develop detailed workstreams and project plans by engaging appropriate subject matter experts. Recommend strategies to improve project performance and outcomes. Make sound decisions with consideration for long-term strategy and organizational context. Maintain professional certifications and apply new knowledge to enhance project delivery. Adapt communication style and level of detail to suit different audiences, from executive summaries to technical deep dives. Take proactive action to keep projects on track regarding scope, budget, and schedule. Create and maintain project documentation, including charters, integrated plans, schedules, status reports, meeting notes, and other artifacts. Manage change control processes, including IT Requests for Change (RFCs) and deployments. Issue Project Change Requests (PCRs) as needed for changes in scope, schedule, budget, or release strategy. Provide timely, accurate, and transparent status updates to executives, sponsors, stakeholders, and team members. Identify and manage risks proactively, escalating issues as necessary. Oversee the release of project deliverables into operational environments.

Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience:University degree in computer science, healthcare, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 5-8 years of experience managing large-scale technology initiatives and complex IT solutions. PMP, Agile certification, or actively pursuing certification is preferred. Proven experience managing cross-functional teams, including vendors and geographically dispersed resources. Experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Healthcare sector experience is an asset. Technical background (e.g., developer, architect, business analyst) is an asset. Familiarity with ITIL, IT infrastructure, and current technology trends is an asset. Knowledge of healthcare legislation (e.g., PHIPA) is an asset. Experience with procurement and vendor management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, Visio, SharePoint, Jira, and Confluence.
