The Opportunity:

We\'re looking for a business project manager with proven experience in delivering projects to achieve operational excellence and support superior service delivery. You\'re someone who is keen to implement market-leading innovation and new technology solutions to support brokers and clients in an industry that is seeing exponential change.

You will manage business projects supporting Liberty Mutual Canada\'s vision and strategic objectives: An Inspiring Culture, A Customer-Centric Approach and A Best-In-Class Operating Model.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conceptualizes immediate and long-range needs of Liberty Mutual Canada with respect to project mission.
  • Must understand business objectives as they relate to project goals.
  • Translates needs into a comprehensive project plan which ensures successful project completion.
  • Negotiates projects objectives and direction with Sponsors and Stakeholders across department such as Operations, Technology, Actuarial, Underwriting, Claims, Legal, and Human Resources, and Business Alignment.
  • May act as the project lead for various departments to ensure the completion of work in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Negotiates with external vendors/agencies/organizations, regarding sensitive and/or complex issues.
  • Prepares periodic written reports for Sponsors regarding project status and keeps Stakeholders informed of project direction and renegotiates direction as necessary.
  • Makes presentations regarding project direction and recommendations to Senior Sponsors and Stakeholders.
Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience to include project management work.
  • Bachelor`s degree or equivalent experience. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles and concepts.
  • Strong knowledge of business process improvement, ideally Lean Six Sigma certification.
  • Strong ability to manage all aspects of the project management life cycle.
  • Proficient with project management tools.
  • Project management certification strongly preferred.
  • Displays strong communication, organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and team building skills.
  • Advanced presentation, influencing, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong insurance business operations knowledge to include understanding the function`s value chain and market conditions strongly preferred.
