What you\'ll be doing

As a member of CIBC\xe2\x80\x99s team, the Project Manager, IT is responsible for managing day-to-day project activities of complex projects, ensuring project control procedures and policies are adhered to as per technology\xe2\x80\x99s project performance standards. The role demonstrates initiative to initiate projects, conduct feasibility studies, prepare business cases, and analyze and document complex data and processes to provide estimates of work effort and duration for projects. The Project Manager, IT, uses independent judgment to determine methods and approaches to work, utilizing the project tracking system to manage project reviews and prepare and distribute project status, updates, and progress reports to project stakeholders. In addition, the role acts as a resource integrator for their area, managing stakeholder expectations related to the project scope and timeline constraints.

How you\'ll succeed

Project Management \xe2\x80\x93 Outline project goals, terms of reference, resource requirements, and costs. Create a resource plan that ensures all stakeholders have a voice in the project. Assess the efficiency of the practices and procedures used by a team, and provide guidance that will continuously improve the project plan.

Collaboration \xe2\x80\x93 Help internal partners make informed decisions about developing programs, products, and services. Coach and mentor your teams as you work toward a common goal. Negotiate deliverables and milestones whenever necessary.

Project Coordination \xe2\x80\x93 Proactively identify risks to the project schedule and find ways to mitigate them. Monitor milestones; ensure they\xe2\x80\x99re completed according to timelines and budgets. Then, execute a project plan that strikes the right balance between budget, time, and risk.

Communication and Persuasion \xe2\x80\x93 Share ideas, build consensus, and write impactfully. Chair meetings and

Relationships \xe2\x80\x93 Develop trusted working relationships with business stakeholders and technology partners.

Leadership \xe2\x80\x93 For those candidates with significant experience, train and mentor colleagues.

Who you are

You can demonstrate at least two years of experience in project management, ideally within the financial services or technology industry. You have managed cross-portfolio projects in a matrix environment. You have experience with waterfall and agile methodologies and knowledge of the Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC).

You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field of study. It\xe2\x80\x99s an asset if you have your PMP designation.
