Job Description


The part time Project Manager will aid in the development of a Project Management Plan for a large international, interdisciplinary scientific team operating on the forefront of academic science. The successful candidate will be required to help develop a project management plan and take a lead role in ensuring effective communication among team members.

The candidate will work closely with other members of a Project Management Team alongside a senior scientist to ensure that project milestones are met.

Project management tasks will include, but may not be limited to:

  • Managing project schedules from team members, to ensure their work is in scope, and timelines, milestones and deliverables are met
  • Creating and executing a governance plan, along with evaluation metrics, data management, and a risk register
  • Managing overall budget to help distribute funds on an annual basis, based on evaluation metrics
  • Participating in meetings between team members and in annual team meetings
  • Ensuring effective communication within the team, including scheduling and event planning
  • Developing project branding by creating a website and through the use of social media
  • Running educational and training activities
  • Assisting in dayto-day management of the Program and its initiatives
Required skills
  • Minimum 3 years postdegree experience in Project Management or the management of large research projects
  • Higher level degree (e.g., MBA, MSc, PhD)
  • Experience and/or training in Project Management is desired
  • Excellent ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
  • Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and time management skills
  • Experience in the use of Project Management Tools, such as Adobe Workfront, Slack, Microsoft Teams, etc. would be preferred.
  • Superb interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work in a team environment is critical.
