Reporting directly to the Manager, Water Resources, this role is responsible for supporting Town-wide stormwater planning initiatives that promote sustainable growth, protect water resources, and enhance community resilience. You will lead and coordinate subwatershed and related environmental studies, integrate findings into Town planning and infrastructure programs, and ensure alignment with provincial policy, conservation authority guidance, and the Town's long-term stormwater management strategy. You will also support the preparation and implementation of a Town-wide stormwater operations, maintenance, and monitoring program tailored to address new growth areas, as well as existing urban, rural, and infill developments.
As the Project Manager, Stormwater, you will perform the following duties, including but not limited to:
Lead and coordinate subwatershed studies to support the Town's Secondary Planning initiatives.
Review and approve project-specific Stormwater Pond and Low Impact Development (LID) Monitoring Plans for development and capital projects, coordinating with internal departments, developers, consultants, and agencies such as TRCA, CVC, and Region of Peel.
Ensure that approved stormwater monitoring plans, annual monitoring reports, and monitoring data satisfy the requirements of the Town's Stormwater Monitoring Program and the Consolidated Linear Infrastructure Environmental Compliance Approval (CLI-ECA).
Provide technical review and input on environmental components of development applications, emphasizing subwatershed conformity, natural heritage protection, and stormwater integration.
Support all stormwater management programs and initiatives including, but not limited to, the Green Building Standards, Climate Change Strategy, CLI-ECA, and Stormwater Management Guidelines and Standards.
Provide technical information to Council, consultants, developers, contractors, residents, Town staff, and other government agencies on stormwater matters related to municipal servicing and land development.
Respond to and resolve inquiries and complaints from residents and development stakeholders while providing exceptional customer service.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and make recommendations regarding Town standards, policies, processes, and stormwater management practices.
Represent Water Resources on internal and external committees and working groups, and perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a knowledgeable and collaborative professional with a post-secondary diploma in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field. A university degree in Civil, Water Resources, or Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science is preferred.
Our ideal candidate has 3-5 years of related experience in land development, stormwater management, or a municipal/conservation authority setting. Certification as a C.E.T. through OACETT is an asset.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in water resources, erosion and flooding hazard management, grading, storm servicing, stormwater monitoring, and the ability to manage large sets of data. We are seeking an individual with superior organizational and analytical skills, a demonstrated ability to coordinate multi-stakeholder projects, and excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
The successful candidate for Project Manager, Stormwater will be required to work a flexible schedule, including in the office, remotely, and after hours as required.
This position offers a salary range of $103,595.84 - $129,494.80 plus a competitive benefit package.
