Pagnotta Industries, Inc. is a mid-sized, full service provider of structural concrete, general contracting and construction management services with offices in Edmonton, AB and Saskatoon, SK.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager for our Saskatoon office reporting to the SK Branch Manager!

  • Main Functions:
This position will participate in business development activities with senior management, consultants, clients and staff to successfully secure new contracts. In turn, this position will primarily focus on leading our team of construction professionals in the day to day management and execution of construction projects through various contract formats, ensuring all facets of the construction process are managed in accordance with safety requirements while maintaining budget and schedule integrity.
  • Responsibilities:
Delegating, supervising and working with Project Coordinators and other support staff in all facets of project management and operational requirements for construction projects.

Performing specification analysis in order to provide clear, traceability and coordinated interpretations of the design/drawings for tender and construction.

Researching and recommending solutions to design document problems, including conflicts, interferences and errors/omissions.

Reviewing, interpreting and communicating contract documents and project requirements to project team, understanding various forms of contract and communicating associated risks.

Leading development, communication and maintenance of project schedule considering all facets of the construction process based on client requirements and constructability.

Coordinating and leading project team meetings providing interpretation, insight and feedback on project scope, budget, schedule, procurement, operations, safety and systems.

Reviewing quantity take-offs as required.

Reviewing, negotiating and approving quotes/estimates from suppliers/vendors/subcontractors relating to bid submissions and change orders to existing contracts/purchase orders.

Designing/reviewing and implementation of standard forms and related procedures for effective project management.

Ensuring all preconstruction operations and activities have been executed, recorded and tracked appropriately.

Reviewing, negotiating and approving in a timely manner purchase orders, letters of intent to vendors, contracts and sub-contracts, progress claims and change orders from vendors and sub-contractors.

Reviewing and overseeing shop drawings process to ensure they are executed and tracked, in accordance with specification requirements.

Attending project coordination and owner/contractor/architect/engineer meetings and site visits.

Reviewing, issuing instructions, submitting and/or approving work related to RFI\xe2\x80\x99s, SI\xe2\x80\x99s, PCN\xe2\x80\x99s (CCN or CCO), CN\xe2\x80\x99s (CO), work orders, permits and bid scopes.

Reviewing, negotiating and approving in a timely manner progress billings, work orders/change orders to client for billing.

Reviewing and approving all close-out document submissions to the client.

Monitoring field work, including contract work, to ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, specifications, safety legislation and codes.

Participating in and supporting company safety program.

Reviewing, negotiating and approving field change requests to resolve design issues.

Reviewing and delegating deficiency lists to own forces and vendor/subcontractors.

Developing and executing process changes to create greater project management efficiencies.

Perform additional assignments and tasks required for successful project completion and client satisfaction.
  • Working Conditions:
Work will be performed primarily at the Saskatchewan office located in Saskatoon, SK

Regular site visits are required and will require proper PPE to access the sites.

Valid driver\'s license and reliable vehicle is required

Travel up to 15% is required. Travel to projects in different provinces maybe required.

Extensive use of a computer and prolonged sitting.

Lifting, pulling and rolling drawings from time to time.

Regular communication with project management staff, site personnel, clients, consultants and vendors/subcontractors.

Business casual, professional attire.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Proficient spoken and written English.

Expert knowledge of construction methodology, techniques, equipment, drawings and specifications, building materials, required standards applicable to discipline and project management processes.

Excellent computer skills including MS Office suite of products.

In-depth knowledge and understanding of project scheduling, work breakdown structures, critical path analysis and utilizing software products to produce meaningful scheduling resources.

Expert knowledge of job costing and coding, committed costing and work in progress cost analysis and management.

Knowledge of Jonas software or other job costing software.

Knowledge of or experience with AutoCad is an asset.

Full comprehension of and ability to interpret blueprints, contract specifications, construction legislation, contract law and quantity takeoffs.

Ability to teach, coach, provide direction and mentor subordinates and other project team members on construction project management processes including budgeting, scheduling, scope/specification interpretations, documentation and client/owner/consultant expectations.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a diverse team environment treating others including clients, consultants, supervisors, suppliers, contractors, co-workers and site personnel with courtesy and respect.

Ability to assume responsibility and to interface and communicate effectively orally and written.

Ability to represent the company and project team in a professional manner to clients, architects, engineers, related project staff and the community.

Ability to learn and expand knowledge base for greater performance and productivity.

Punctual, meticulous and reliable.
  • Educational Requirements:
Technical diploma or engineering degree in related field

2 \xe2\x80\x93 7 years hands-on experience in commercial, institutional or hi-rise construction project management.

Proven ability to lead project teams in successfully completing multi-million dollar commercial projects while maintaining budgets and schedules.
