AECOM Buildings + Places Canada is seeking an Architectural Project Manager - Operations, Maintenance and Storage Facilities (OMSF) to join our team. This position could be based out of any of our Canadian offices.

Job Summary:

The job incumbent will be responsible for the overall planning and management of each stage of a project to ensure that all contractual commitments are met on time and within budget. The individual will determine the necessary resources required for the execution of several Transit/ municipal Operations, Maintenance, and Storage Facilities projects from inception to completion. The incumbent will be responsible to manage scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and change management with the goal of producing functionally and financially viable projects that will be completed on time within authorized cost and to the required quality. The PM will not be responsible for the design of the project, however, as a senior member of the staff, the PM will lead as an example and mentor junior project coordinators.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform as a Project Manager on Transit fleet/ municipal OMSF buildings.
  • Negotiates, develops, monitors and controls the scope of deliverables, work plans, schedules and budgets for all project stages
  • Assist the Market Sector Leader in the preparation and coordinate winning proposals, attract new clients and retain current clients as required
  • Develops a detailed work plan for all architectural and engineering disciplines, allocates hours to the work plan and monitors project progress weekly
  • Leads an integrated team of architects and engineers in the quality assurance and quality control procedures for all deliverables, specifically the construction drawings and specifications
  • Leads and attends regular coordination meetings for all architectural and engineering disciplines in all project phases
  • Maintains a good understanding of the project scope and when changes to the scope occur, negotiates solutions to ensure outcomes meet client expectations and contractual obligations; prepares PCNs as required
  • Ensures timely communications throughout all project phases, develops and maintains meeting minutes, and follows up on all action items
  • Complies with the AECOM Quality Management System methodology; develop, monitor and control scope, deliverables, work plan, schedules and budget for all project stages
  • Monitors, controls and reports project progress (% complete) on a monthly basis as part of the project review process
  • Participates in monthly project reviews to review project, budget work plan, schedule and risks
  • Coordinates with contractor, sub-consultants or relevant building authorities to address and document issues with constructability or owner concerns
  • Attends and conducts progress meetings before, during, and after the duration of the project to exchange information and resolve issues or concerns with various key stakeholders; prepares and issues meeting minutes Ensures that all project close out documents are submitted and forwarded to appropriate parties upon completion of the project
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Architecture/Engineering or related field
  • Minimum 8 (eight) years experience in project management on buildings projects, including experience working on Transit/ Municipal Operations, Maintenance and Storage facilities
  • Licensed Architect or Engineer
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects of various types and complexities, thorough all phases of a project
  • Ability to manage a number of projects simultaneously
  • Broad skills in all phases of project delivery an asset
  • Technical knowledge of building construction and the Building Code
  • Experience in obtaining approvals through Municipal Planning & Development, including Site Plan Approval, Zoning Bylaw Changes
  • Familiar with construction administration protocols
  • Business acumen
  • Ability to work within a team environment, ability to co-ordinate with a multi-disciplinary in-house consultant team
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
  • Ability to multi-task combined with strong attention to detail, time management and organizational skills
  • High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning
  • Strong, hands-on technical knowledge, document review, consultant coordination and experience in field review and contract administration
  • Dedicated, with an all-hands-on-deck attitude towards completing the work efficiently and accurately
  • Experience with sustainable design

  • Company is unable to cover any relocation expenses incurred to take up this position
  • Company work sponsorship is not available for this position
  • The incumbent will pass the AECOM PM Training modules within a period of six month and prepare for MAP ( Managing AECOM Projects) Certification.
