Role Overview
As the Project Manager, you will define core project workflows, coordinate timelines, support resource planning, and establish reporting standards. You will also be responsible for managing project scope, assessing risks, and maintaining a clear overview of progress across mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams.
This role requires someone comfortable building processes from the ground up and guiding teams through structured execution while still operating in a startup environment.
Develop and maintain project schedules, timelines, and deliverables across engineering disciplines.
Lead planning sessions, cross-functional meetings, and project check-ins.
Track progress and ensure teams remain aligned on objectives and milestone commitments.
Maintain clear and consistent project documentation.
Risk Management
Identify technical, schedule, and resource-related risks early in the project lifecycle.
Maintain a concise risk log and ensure each item has a clear owner and mitigation strategy.
Communicate high-impact risks to leadership with recommended actions.
Scope Management
Define project scope and requirements with stakeholders at project kickoff.
Manage scope changes using a simple and structured change-control process.
Prevent scope creep by ensuring alignment with leadership before adjustments are approved.
Resource & Budget Planning
Build human-resource capacity plans and support leadership in forecasting hiring needs.
Develop basic cash burn projections and track budget usage during project execution.
Monitor resource utilization and recommend adjustments when team load becomes imbalanced.
Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
Create standardized progress updates for leadership.
Generate utilization and performance reports for deployed products.
Serve as a communication bridge between all engineering teams, leadership, and external partners.
Qualifications
Required:
5+ years of experience in hardware/software product development environments.
Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, firmware, software).
Ability to implement and maintain project management processes in small or growing organizations.
Hands-on experience with risk assessment and scope control.
Proficiency with modern PM tools (Jira, Monday, Asana, ClickUp, etc.).
Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
Comfortable being the founding PM and building frameworks from scratch.
PMP certification preferred
Nice to Have:
Experience in automotive, commercial transportation, IoT, robotics, or industrial equipment.
Familiarity with validation testing, manufacturing, or supply chain workflows.
Experience developing financial models, resource forecasts, or dashboards.
