Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage construction projects from pre-construction through to close-out and handover.
Coordinate all project phases, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and on-site execution.
Oversee and assist with the bidding process for subcontractors and suppliers, evaluating proposals based on pricing, quality of work, communication, reliability, and speed of delivery.
Assess and recommend which subcontractors are best suited for each project to maintain quality and cost control.
Work closely with estimators and coordinators to ensure bids align with project goals and timelines.
Encouraged to bring in trusted subcontractors, tradesmen, and suppliers, though all new participants may be subject to the same bidding and evaluation process to ensure fairness and quality.
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and consultants, ensuring clear communication and accountability.
Monitor project progress, manage risks, ensure quality and safety standards are met, and resolve issues proactively.
Track budgets, manage change orders, and ensure projects stay on time and within scope.
Maintain accurate project documentation (drawings, RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, progress reports).
Qualifications & Skills:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
2-3 years of experience managing residential or commercial construction projects in the Toronto/GTA area.
Proven ability toevaluate subcontractor bids and manage vendor relationships effectively.
Strong understanding of construction processes, budgeting, scheduling, and contract management (experience with Procore or MS Project is an asset).
Fluent in English -- excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
Valid Ontario driver's licence and reliable transportation.
PMP certification or similar training is an asset but not required.
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive salary range: CAD $80,000 - $90,000 annually, based on experience.
