Job Description

OVERVIEW




The Mental Health and Substance Use team partners with patients, leaders and care providers across the hospital and its community to drive positive change in the areas of quality, patient safety, and financial sustainability. We are seeking a Project Manager to support the planning and implementation of various quality improvement projects within the Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) Department at MGH.




EDUCATION




Master's Degree in health or business administration coupled with 5 plus years related management experience in healthcare or a combination of equivalent education and experience. Industrial Engineering degree, Lean/Six-sigma, change management and project management certifications are assets.




QUALIFICATIONS




Strong understanding of the Ontario health care system, adult mental health and substance use, and

primary care delivery models.

Solid understanding of local health issues, priorities and needs in East Toronto preferred. Demonstrated experience and ability to build positive working relationships with local health service providers and to influence decision making and adoption of change initiatives required. Project management expertise with large scale change initiatives and proven ability to support change required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message required. Strong planning and organizational skills; and the ability to facilitate meetings. Able to understand and manage priorities with minimal supervision. Strong analytical, problem solving and decision makingskills. Experience in data analytics, epidemiology and information synthesis; knowledge of health care reporting requirements and funding methodologies, knowledge/familiarity with various databases used to capture information in primary care sector. Experience in consulting considered an asset. Strong skills in formatting/manipulating data extracted from various information systems, conducting analyses, and delivering recommendations.

- Excellent time management skills - can effectively manage multiple projects and address competing demands on the basis of priority.

Excellent capabilities with Microsoft Office suite. Good work and attendance record is required.
