THE ROLE

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Project Manager will have at least 5 years of field management experience in a technical capacity as well as at least 5 years in a Project Manager capacity in either Civil or Mechanical. We are seeking a technically experienced person who can build relationships with our field staff and clients. With projects ranging from 1 to 24 months, the successful candidate will be able to handle competing priorities and change direction quickly as they will be handling multiple projects and commitments.

WHAT YOU\'LL BE DOING

\xc2\xb7 Oversee complete project scope and ensure the work is being conducted in accordance with client specifications and Backwoods standards.

\xc2\xb7 Ensure high level of safety, environment and quality is maintained during the execution of the work.

\xc2\xb7 Monitor project performance, including schedule, cost, equipment, manpower, materials, earned value reporting and HSE.

\xc2\xb7 Interface with client, subcontractors, engineers, project team and corporate team.

\xc2\xb7 HSE management including site tours, inspections monitoring and reporting both internally and on the client level.

\xc2\xb7 Quality management including compiling and monitoring ITP, progressive turnover, re-work tracking and project closeout.

\xc2\xb7 Change management, including identification of change, creation/execution of estimates and change order requests.

\xc2\xb7 Project controls including monitoring and reporting both internally and on the client level. Includes cost analysis/tracking and schedule and Earned value performance/updating/tracking.

\xc2\xb7 Financial reporting, including cost reporting and project performance reporting.

\xc2\xb7 Be able to estimate projects

\xc2\xb7 Mentor/coach project team; and

\xc2\xb7 Additional and alternative duties that may be changed from time-to-time by the Employer.

WHAT WE\'RE LOOKING FOR

\xc2\xb7 5-years of previous project management experience in industrial Mechanical and Pipeline construction discipline.

\xc2\xb7 Diploma or bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree from a recognized engineering/project management program or equivalent.

\xc2\xb7 Previous experience in Pipeline and integrity digs is an asset

\xc2\xb7 Ability to travel 50% of the time across Alberta, with the other 50% in Edmonton head office.

\xc2\xb7 Experience in all phases of project execution from estimate to closeout.

\xc2\xb7 In depth knowledge of heavy civil construction execution and methodology.

\xc2\xb7 Proficient with Microsoft Office software.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to compile reports for internal and client review.

\xc2\xb7 Ability to complete/understand financial reports and ability to explain report data to corporate team.

\xc2\xb7 Excellent communication and organizational skills.
