About the Opportunity


We are looking for a highly creative independent, motivated, and well-rounded candidate for a full-time

Project Manager

position. This position will provide project management functions related to undeveloped properties of the organization. The ideal candidate will have the ability to manage, monitor and report on all planning, engineering, construction and servicing aspects and related activities for the organization's project sites. You will be focusing on various project schedules and the timely implementation of municipal and regional approvals and servicing programs.

How You'll Contribute


As the

Project Manager

your responsibilities include:

Provide development services to the company to assist in the entitlement process of real estate projects, working within the constraints of schedules, budget and scope including:

o Developing project plans;

o Monitoring and managing project schedules and budgets;

o Ensuring that all pertinent documentation is appropriately stored and retained; and

o Managing the work of external multidisciplinary team such as appraisers, architects, planners, engineers, contractors, etc. in the achievement of project objectives.

Participate in the preparation, review and implementation of municipal and regional short and long term planning activities (budgets, strategic and business plans, Board submissions and policy formulation).

Interact with a wide range of audiences including government, public, community associations, other corporations to achieve project objectives.

Manage the contract tendering and administration process, including payments to consultants, development-phase contractors and service providers.

Assists in expediting planning, engineering and development approvals and permits.

Provide updates on project timing and costs relative to budgets on a continual basis to management.

Develop strategies and manage environmental remediation within commercial and brownfield areas.

Keep up-to-date and report on industry trends, regulatory context and planning legislation.

What You'll Bring



Education:

University Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Planning or related field and/or significant related experience required, preferably in land development.

Work Experience:



A minimum of 5 to 7 years of project management experience is required.

Demonstrated experience on multi-disciplinary land or re-development teams.

Strong knowledge of municipal government organization and structure.

Knowledge of municipal zoning, official plans, subdivision, site plan and condominium approval and registration processes.

Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory approval and site servicing requirements.

Knowledge of Planning and Construction Law is an asset.

Knowledge of environmental issues, requirements and remedies.

Proficient in: MS Office

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to perform duties independently and carry out projects of varying complexity.

Ability to take initiative and contribute to a team environment.

Energetic, self-motivated, detail-oriented, analytical and positive attitude.

Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills in an office and team environment or with external consultants.
