The Project Manager (Technology & Operations) is responsible for leading multi-department projects across Shelby's digital ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of IT, Operations, Marketing, Training, Finance, and Construction -- ensuring every major rollout is delivered on time, on budget, and with full cross-functional alignment.
This includes major initiatives such as:
POS system replacement
Loyalty platform & mobile app launches
Website modernization
Digital menu boards & kiosk expansions
AI/automation rollouts
Inventory & back-office systems
Franchise onboarding lifecycle improvements
Network, cabling, camera, and infrastructure upgrades
This role is made for a
tech-forward PMP
who can manage complex timelines, vendors, dependencies, and teams -- while understanding the technical realities behind each system.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership (Primary Focus)
Build and manage project plans, timelines, dependencies, and critical paths
Coordinate across Operations, IT, Marketing, Finance, Training, and Store Development
Run weekly project standups, risk reviews, and executive updates
Track budgets, scope, and deliverables across multiple simultaneous deployments
Manage vendor relationships and ensure SLA adherence
Technical Execution Oversight
You're not writing code -- but you
must understand the tech
:
Know how POS, loyalty, inventory, LMS, kiosks, and networks fit together
Translate technical requirements into clear project tasks
Validate vendor documentation, API requirements, and integration timelines
Support testing, UAT, pilot programs, and phased rollouts
Identify technical risks before they become operational problems
AI, Automation & Future-Tech Projects
Assist VP in planning and rolling out AI-enabled tools
Manage data consolidation or middleware integration projects
Coordinate testing of new automation in stores
Work with vendors on proof-of-concept pilot programs
Franchise Onboarding & Store Growth
Manage the full franchise lifecycle project plan
Ensure timelines between Construction, Real Estate, Ops, Marketing, and IT stay aligned
Standardize processes across all new store openings
Documentation & Communication
Create Gantt charts, project summaries, risk logs, and stakeholder updates
Maintain a unified project workspace (Delightree)
Build project templates for repeatable, scalable rollouts
Required Experience & Skills
Must Have
PMP certification (or equivalent PM background)
3-5+ years project management experience (IT, SaaS, retail, or QSR preferred)
Strong understanding of modern IT systems and integrations
Experience running multi-department rollout projects
Able to manage vendors, budgets, timelines, and scope simultaneously
Strong written and verbal communication
Highly structured, organized, and methodical
Nice to Have
Experience in QSR tech, POS rollouts, or franchise operations
Familiarity with system integrations, APIs, and data flows
Background in digital transformation or AI projects
Experience with no-code / low-code tools
Ability to build dashboards or reporting views
