The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management best practices (PMI or similar), with knowledge and experience in right-of-way and land acquisition for utility infrastructure projects.

The Project Manager, Land Acquistion will be responsible for managing complex Right of Way projects where the scope of work includes negotiations for property acquisition, removal of encumbrances on title, and acquisition of easements for utility and other infrastructure projects. The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring deliverables are provided in conformance to Canacre\xe2\x80\x99s quality standards. The Project Manager will work with Canacre\xe2\x80\x99s Clients to support appropriate scoping and will be responsible for providing program oversight while managing, supervising and coordinating the activities of project teams and/or agents through all stages of the project.

In addition, your role will be to:

  • Lead resources on the negotiation and acquisition of right-of-way and other real property interests as necessary, to accommodate the construction, operation, and maintenance of assets after construction
  • Coordinate the work of the project team and forecast project resourcing requirements during the project\xe2\x80\x99s lifecycle. Manage the budget for the programs and projects assigned, in preparation of right-of-way related cost estimates associated with land and easement acquisitions
  • Coordinate resources assigned to projects and provide program oversight, serving as liaison between resources and our Client\xe2\x80\x99s lines of business
  • Coordinate and lead the development of project scopes, schedules, budgets, forecasts, deliverables and milestones related to the acquisition of real estate rights
  • Coordinate business areas regarding projects, public outreach, or others in Land Management matters
  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures and identify opportunities for improvement
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Energy Land Management, Engineering, Financials or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 2 years managing Right of Way projects
  • Knowledge of Real Estate strategy gained through education and/or experience
  • Experience in a consulting project environment, comfort being client-facing
  • Professional cost estimation and real property acquisitions experience
  • Professional experience with acquisition and management of property or right-of- way
  • Knowledge of project management tools and techniques
  • Ablility to coordinate several projects at the same time
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Pertinent knowledge of Federal, State/Provincial, and local laws, codes and regulations, including real estate law and appraisal techniques
  • Clear, concise written and oral communications
  • Knowledge of expense and accrual forecasts and planning for operating and capital budgets
  • Ability to interpret and research (abstract) legal documents (e.g. federal, state, municipal and private records)
  • Knowledge and proficiency using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Google Earth
  • Project Manager certificate (PMP or equivalent)
