TI-AMS, Sustainability and Continuous Improvement Initiative (ASCII)
TRA Revenue Modernization
Scope:
Technology Refresh Project
This is a project within the scope of the overall Technology Refresh Plan that drives innovation which is directly aligned to the GoA Digital Strategy but also ensuring that the GOA falls in line with the Enhancement of Legacy Systems Directive. The GoA is faced with numerous technology gaps and challenges, and the systems are becoming increasingly obsolete and problematic. The purpose of this project is to replace the legacy technologies with a current, cost-effective, enterprise-wide technology solution by successfully implementing the Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer platform. The implementation includes replatforming the vast majority of the GoA Oracle databases on to a common Exadata hardware platform while at the same time upgrading to supported software versions.
Target Date for completion is March 31, 2024.
TRA Revenue Modernization
Tax and Revenue Administration (TRA) is seeking a revenue management Solution that will enable full scope capabilities to support an integrated end-to-end tax and revenue management lifecycle within the Government of Alberta (GoA). In the face of rapidly changing economic trends and stakeholder expectations, TRA needs agile and scalable technology to operate efficiently and effectively. The Solution will improve the GoAs ability to implement new priorities to support businesses and Albertans on a timely basis, utilizing a full suite of digital business functions to minimize risk and maximize industry best practices. The procurement process of the solution includes a public posted Negotiated Request for Proposal with a target date for the successful proponent to commence implementation in August 2024.
It is anticipated the target date for completion will be August 2029.
Cybersecurity Vulnerability Mitigation Project
GoA applications were comprised due to suffering cyberattacks, that led to their temporary shutdown to protect sensitive government data. Subsequent investigations revealed that an additional forty-eight legacy systems within the application portfolio share some of the same vulnerabilities (Richfaces, Jboss Seam, legacy Java Versions, and legacy Tomcat Servers) as the initial four systems. These vulnerable systems pose significant risks to the organization. As a result, GoA is working collaboratively to implement mitigative strategies as well as develop a prioritized plan for system remediation. The project goal is to address high to critical security vulnerabilities on the applications that have been compromised due to suffering cyberattacks. The scope is to recover, secure and remediate the applications as needed and in order of priority.
Target Date for completion is August 30, 2024.
