Our National office is looking for a Project Manager to join the IT team. Reporting to the Manager, Project Management Office (PMO), the Project Manager will own the following responsibilities:


Liaise with business units, firm internal functions and IT teams in the delivery, quality

management, and successful execution of assigned business and/or technology projects
Develop and maintain relationships with key business partners and other stakeholders, both internally and externally, ensuring business and technical objectives are met Under some direction, plans, direct and coordinate activities of low to medium level of complexity projects to ensure that they meet the approved timeframe, scope, quality, and budget expectations Adhere to BDO project management standards while managing budgets, risk, project communications, project resource forecasting (i.e., status reports, issues tracking log, project plans, communication plans, presentations to steering committees, management of documents, etc.) to ensure cost effective, timely and effective delivery of projects Work with project sponsor to effectively transition projects from an idea through to development and implementation, ensuring that all project objectives and goals are clearly understood and met Engage Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and project stakeholders in a timely and efficient manner, managing their involvement and expectations Assess the priority and scope of issues by understanding business objectives, technical costs and user needs, as well as being able to weigh alternatives for resolution Establish, develop, and maintain effective communications and relationships with key business partners and sponsors, both internally and externally Understand all phases of the software development life cycle and various techniques to lead, create and motivate a high value project team consisted of various business and IT stakeholders Work with appropriate business and IT stakeholders in finalizing project deliverables and milestones, and lead and manage the team towards achieving those milestones

Your experience and education



University Degree or College Diploma in Software Engineering, Computer Science or Business Administration or equivalent work experience with Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred 3+ years of direct work experience in a Project Management role with emphasis on working with IT system and infrastructure (Cloud Computing, Server Administration, Networking, Telephony), architecture, web development, IT Security, Big data, and cloud technologies 3+ years of direct work experience in a Project Management capacity managing medium to large projects with an emphasis on IT facilities including office mergers, moves, new builds and/or renovations Direct work experience in a Project Management capacity managing medium to large projects with an emphasis on designing, building, installing, configuring, and supporting multi-terabyte data warehouses and analytics platform an asset Lifecycle (PMLC), System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Iterative), Project Management and Business Analysis best practices and Business Analysis tools, activities, and methodologies Working knowledge and experience in MS suite of products (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, SharePoint, Team Foundation Server/Azure Dev Ops, Visual Studio, Power BI), Project Portfolio Management tools (MS Project Online) and Test Management tools (JIRA) High-level understanding of data-related technologies, i.e., databases, SQL, ETL processing, industry- standard analytics tools, etc. Experience with big data tools and concepts such as Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Data Bricks, Data Factory, Apache Spark, Hadoop, Power BI an asset Experience in interactive project development and managing change management processes Strong facilitation, presentation, and training skills with the ability to convey complex ideas verbally and written to both business and technical staff Excellent analytical, time management skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously with tight deadlines Demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and in a team environment Self-development skills to keep up to date with fast-changing trends Experience working in professional services and/or service delivery an asset
