Who we need

Right now we are adding a technology expert, a relationship builder and a people leader to our Toronto location. This is an opportunity for a Project Manager, IT to balance guiding the work of a team with oversight on multiple organizational transformational projects that make a significant impact on the way people do their work. Projects including extending the use of our ERP (Navision); rolling out and maintaining voice-over-IP; and more. This is a chance to work with the senior leadership team to identify and prioritize project objectives, resources and timelines.

Who you are

You are an Intermediate Project Manager with a PMP certification and several years of experience overseeing multiple internal IT projects concurrently. You take a customer-service approach working across teams to apply creative solutions to complex problems. You want to spearhead internal initiatives that span across multiple departments on a local and national scale.

As our new Project Manager, IT, you will:

  • Manage IT projects from end-to-end. You will:
  • Identify, assign and coordinate people resources.
  • Draft and submit budget proposals and changes where necessary.
  • Create and track task-based schedules and cost forecasts.
  • Assist in assessing risk-based provisions.
  • Oversee quality assurance.
  • Manage third-party relationships.
  • Serve as a single point of contact.
  • Ensure project closure initiatives, such as client satisfaction survey and closure analysis, are completed.
  • Travel up to 10% of the time throughout the country to our sites to oversee implementations and onboarding.
  • Introduce and implement high standards. You will ensure the use of best practices for delivering projects that exceed expectations. You will document and archive project activities, deliverables, tools and findings for future projects.
  • Manage stakeholders. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders and partners. You will build relationships and manage expectations, communications, escalations, feedback with executive sponsors, vendors, third-party partners etc.
  • Prepare and present updates. You will prepare all status reporting and keep the appropriate people informed and up to date in a timely manner, such as team members, senior management and the business on the status of projects.
  • Solve complex problems. You will be proactive in taking the initiative and the lead for identifying and resolving issues. You will cope with project changes effectively and efficiently. You are aware of all interdependencies in your project delivery and ensure everyone is aware of the linkages. You will clarify, identify, and track requirements and issues, remove barriers, resolve minor project issues and escalate where required.
What you bring:
  • The education. You have a Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field. You have strong financial analysis and project management skills. You have a PMP certification.
  • The experience. You have 5+ years of progressive end-to-end project management experience managing small to medium cross-functional project teams and integrated projects with a focus identifying and implementing company-wide technologies. You are an expert with MS Office Suite and Project tools. You have solid experience implementing Navision. SQL and VMW are are also assets.
  • The analytical skills. You have highly refined problem-solving skills and can efficiently remove roadblocks, presenting multiple end-result options. You have advanced quantitative skills and you are extremely organized and detail oriented. You can expertly create, track and report on key metrics.
  • The interpersonal capabilities. Your communication skills - written, verbal, presentation - are outstanding. You are comfortable talking to teams from the engineering level upwards to C-level executives. You can lead and inspire the work of multiple teams while effectively removing roadblocks and managing conflicts.
  • The project management skills. You have a confident personality and the intelligence to make well-balanced decisions. You can prioritize and keep your eye on multiple concurrent projects. You are passionate about project management principles and practices. You have extensive experience with project planning and scheduling, budget and forecasting, scope change and risk management.
