Project Manager I, BCCA - Cancer Strategy, Planning & ImplementationBC CancerVancouver, BCBC Cancer is seeking a passionate Project Manager who can support teams in leading and making a lasting impact in the fight against cancer, while working with a team that sets the standard for excellence.We are eager to meet individuals who can bring the right skills, and the right spirit, to shape the future of cancer care, playing a pivotal role in implementing the strategic direction, planning, and delivery of initiatives within BC\'s Cancer\xe2\x80\x99s Action Plan.We are recruiting for two positions on our team:

  • One focuses on physician and staff wellness including engagement particularly as we all move forward the work of BC Cancer\'s action plan.
  • Another role focuses in supporting primary care in cancer care.

  • Establish detailed project charter, plan an objective to outline timelines and project deliverables. Execute project plan according to project methodologies, ensure successful and coordinated completion of project components, consult with stakeholders as needed and ensures readiness for project implementation.
  • Track project progress according to project plan and identified metrics. Monitor and report on the status of projects and major barriers encountered. Make recommendations to Director regarding projects scope and related changes required to facilitate a successful outcome. Implement or contribute to the implementation of effective processes to assess project risks, identify risk mitigation strategies and monitor risk throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Participate in the development and monitoring of project budgets within the context of operations demands and environmental and resource constraints and uses best practice methods to thoroughly monitor and adhere to allocated budgets.
  • Provide leadership by giving advice or guidance in situations that require interpretation and judgment.
What you bringQualifications:
  • A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Master\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Health Services Administration, Business Administration or relevant health care discipline with
  • A minimum of five (5) year\xe2\x80\x99s recent, related experience in project management and facilitating and managing consultation processes with a wide range of stakeholder groups.
  • Project Management Professional designation considered an asset.
  • Experience or working knowledge of population and public health is key to the success of this role.
You have:
  • Excellent communication skills to function within a complex interdisciplinary environment including ability to communicate with the physician community.
  • Computer literacy with word-processing, spreadsheet, presentation, project management and database applications.
  • Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission\xe2\x80\x99s 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Sight Report (2020), BC\'s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and Reclaiming Power and Place Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls calls for justice, and how they intersect across the health care system.
  • Support team members on their learning journey, ensuring education strategy for team/department to implement Indigenous Cultural Safety at a practical level.
  • Work collaboratively with appropriate Indigenous teams/departments to ensure ICS lens applied holistically.
  • Have commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC\'s Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
  • Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.).

The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate\xe2\x80\x99s relevant education and experience, and would be in alignment with the provincial compensation reference plan.
