Position: Project Manager

Location: Fort McMurray

Term: 12 months - 16 months

Shift: 10/4 (Preferred) or 14/7

Rate:

Contractor Rate - RT $90 - 120/Hr plus 1.4 OT

Employee option is optional as well

Travel Allowance - $600 per shift

Camp and accommodation is provided

Introduction

We are looking for qualified Project Manager who is experienced on Lump-Sump contract for oil and gas pipeline, processing facility and equipment construction.

Key Responsibilities

Lead full project lifecycle: planning, estimating, bidding, procurement, mobilization, construction, controlling, commissioning/startup, turnover and closeout for processing equipment, wellpads, pipelines etc.

Work with Construction Manager and Scheduler on proposal including but not limited Term & Conditions, Execution Plan, Schedule, Cost Estimation etc...

Review contract with admin and office to ensure all risks and contingencies are considered

Manage schedule produce and maintain integrated schedules and resource plans (Primavera P6 / MS Project); track milestones and critical path.

Manage project budget, cash flow, forecasts, cost control and change orders.

Oversee procurement, vendor/subcontractor selection, contract negotiation and performance management.

Manage and supervise material coordinator for tool crib, consumables, materials receiving etc.

Track all items which are potentially change order to ensure all change orders can be submitted to client for approval in timely manner.

Work with construction manager to ensure field construction activities are efficient and properly arranged

Plan and approve heavy lifts, rigging and heavy-haul logistics with lift plans and competent rigging/crane crews.

Lead commissioning/pre-commissioning and startup activities: hydrostatic/pressure tests, loop checks, instrument calibration, function tests, punchlist closeout and turnover documentation.

Work with HSE coordinator to implement and enforce HSE programs and permit-to-work procedures; toolbox, weekly safety meeting, monthly safety topic, pre-job briefs and incident investigations.

Work with QA/QC to ensure QA/QC compliance.

Coordinate regulatory and stakeholder engagement: AER/municipal permits, environmental approvals, Indigenous/First Nations consultation, landowners and client communications.

Identify and mitigate project risks (weather/winterization, logistics, supply chain) and resolve technical/commercial issues promptly.

Prepare project turnover packages per client requirement

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent experience.

Minimum 15 years' construction experience in oil & gas / industrial projects (refining/process equipment, pipelines and wellpads); 3+ years in a PM role.

Experienced on managing Lump Sum Project. Project history/reference is preferred.

Proven track record with mechanical equipment installations, piping systems, welding/NDT, commissioning and pipeline construction methods.

Strong project controls skills (scheduling, cost forecasting, change management). Proficient with Primavera P6 or MS Project and MS Office.

Working knowledge of Alberta regulatory environment (AER, provincial OH&S requirements) and experience with stakeholder/Indigenous engagement.

Certifications: CSTS or equivalent, H2S Alive, Valid First Aid/CPR etc.

Experience managing remote site logistics, cold-weather and winter construction planning.

Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation and subcontractor management skills.

Valid Class 5 driver's licence; willingness to work rotational shifts, travel and camp conditions.

Preferred / Nice-to-Have

PMP, P.Eng or equivalent professional designation.

EPC contractor background and experience with multi-discipline teams.

Prior experience on oil sands projects or Fort McMurray region.
